Hatha-Vinyasa Yoga

Hatha-Vinyasa is a mix of longer held postures and faster flows for the ultimate well rounded practice. Each set of sequences is thoughtfully and lovingly created to enhance balance, strength, mobility, connection, and flow. Hatha yoga can include Pranayama (breath work), and Asana (physical postures). In the hatha portions of our classes we hold the postures for a sustained period, typically a few breaths or more. In this time we take time to notice the sensations brought up in each persons own unique body, exploring options to stabilise, mobilise, strengthen or go deeper, depending on what we need that day and in that posture. We acknowledge that this will be different for everybody and different for each person on different days. Here we are not teaching a strict "one size fits all" style of yoga, but rather giving you the time and tools you need to explore different variations of the poses to find what works for you. A return to the breath will be frequently encouraged, to centre into the pose and foster harmony of mind, body and breath. Vinyasa yoga similarly includes both Pranayama and Asana. In the vinyasa parts of our classes we move with fluidity, in a one breath one movement system. Holly calls this part an intricate dance between mind, body and breath. This part usually makes up the middle portion of our classes (often through sun salutations), where you are safely warmed up and ready to move. You will notice in these flows that they can become a moving form of meditation, there is no time to think about what you will be having for lunch for example, the constant flow and combinations of breath and movement will obligate you to stay in the here and now. This flowing movement in unison with others can create an incredible energy and group cohesion, however people are always encouraged to slow down or speed up as needed for their own personal practice. At the end of each flow we will take time to return completely to the breath, and to notice the energy and heat we have created in our bodies, just by moving. All of our classes begin and end with a centering into the body and breath, connecting to intentions and yogic philosophies, and time to relax.

Power Yoga

Power yoga is a dynamic and physically intense form of yoga that emphasizes strength, flexibility, and endurance. The class warm up will activate the core, glutes and shoulders - key muscular groups needed to support us through the dynamic practice we will then move into. Expect to flow through vinyasas as well as different series of challenging poses and sequences designed to build muscle, enhance cardiovascular fitness and improve overall physical endurance. By being so deeply involved in the work of your body you will automatically leave behind whatever is in your mind. We will challenge the mind-body connection and improve motor abilities by moving through all planes, with sequences combining side to side, twisting and up and down movements. Optional plyometrics (jumps and hops) will be incorporated for extra power for those who would like to add it. Come join us for a transformational journey into the body and leave feeling invigorated for the rest of the day. As always we will finish with a relaxing savasana in our treetop studio with the birds and the chimes, and the best part - we are on the doorstep of the sea for you to cool down afterwards. While the intention of the class is to be physically active and challenging, those of you who are new to yoga are absolutely welcome to attend, we will always offer different ranges of difficulty for the more challenging postures such as balances so that everyone can work to their own level. Our power yoga classes are well-suited for those looking for a challenging workout that also promotes mental focus and stress relief with yoga philosophies woven in.

Hatha Yoga

Your hatha yoga treehouse experience will balance body and mind through physical postures (asanas), breathing techniques (pranayama), and meditation time. Suitable for all levels, these classes move at a moderate pace, allowing participants to develop strength, flexibility, and mindfulness through dynamic stretches and more relaxing postures, with a strong inner focus to find your optimal alignment. Through these slightly longer held poses you allow yourself to really tap into your mind-body connection, simultaneously challenging your muscles and mental willpower to sustain each pose. You will be guided through a series of dynamic postures, with sequences specifically designed to align, strengthen, and promote balance in the body. Creative transitions into postures will be used to challenge the brain and further strengthen mind-body abilities. Throughout the class you will be frequently guided back to the breath to help calm the mind and enhance focus. Opening meditations will be used to set intentions and introduce mantras or themes while you center into the body, and closing relaxations will encourage inner peace and harmony while bringing the whole practice together to complete your experience. Whether you’re new to yoga or experienced, our hatha yoga classes offer you a holistic approach to well-being and a challenge suitable for all levels.

Wind-down Yoga & Sound

Ease into your Sunday with this gentle, relaxing yoga class designed to help you slow down and reset. Using the nature around us you will be guided to connect to the rustling of the leaves, the calm island breeze, and the warmth of a like-minded community coming together to share this space. We’ll flow through releasing stretches and simple standing balances to help the body unwind and the mind find stillness. Then to truly wind down we will settle into an extended savasana, where crystal singing bowls fill the space with their soothing sounds and healing vibrations, inviting in deep rest and quiet renewal. All levels are welcome, whether you're new to yoga or returning to your mat. Come as you are, connect, and let the tranquil setting of the treehouse hold you as we drift together into our Sunday with ease and grace.

Saturday Spectacular

A weekly changing special class; this is intentionally placed towards the end of the week so that I can observe the energy of our visitors that week and create a special class to match that. Some things you can expect to see popping up in the weekly specials are more workshop based classes, styles or combinations that don't appear on the regular schedule, and of course in the interest of always serving your needs - sometimes we will add in an extra of whatever class is in high demand that week. Our weekly sound journey specials are lovingly curated each week based on the needs of our current visitors. Requests are always welcome. Some sound journeys you may see popping up are; *Meditation and sound bath *Yin yoga and sound bath *Simply sound (a whole hour dedicated to the magical healing powers of sound and vibrations) *Chakra focused sound journeys *Restorative yoga and sound bath (in conjunction with another teacher on the island) &Much more.
